Hello again, and welcome to this week’s blog post.
It’s all about lions in cages.
“In a recent survey, it was found that 87% of lions hate the cages that contain them…
In the same survey, it was found that 100% of lions in cages really liked the regular feeding times…”
Lions in cages rarely hunt, roar or play… they are not lions, they are cats that look like lions. They look the same but behave differently.
Same with people; many people dislike the cages they work in, but really appreciate the regular salary they get in order to keep the padlock in place… Yes they can choose to go to a different cage, but the process is the same – regular salary is the anaesthetic of a life lived to the full.
It’s called compensation for a reason.
So if you are hating your job but liking your salary, pension, bonuses, share options or commission – then you are barricading yourself into the cage. There is nothing as liberating as letting go, taking the risk of removing the suffocating comfort blanket of the predictable spirit-crushing income.
What you depend on controls you – choose your masters wisely.
The text above the line is a quote – I don’t remember from where, but I found it while cleaning up the files on my old laptop.
I kept it because it resonated with me. It neatly explains the difference between working for someone else and working for yourself.
I run my own business in the internet marketing space. I work from home, I have no commute, I choose my own hours and I can take time off whenever I feel like it!
My company offers a wide range of internet training courses, professionally recorded on video by the UK’s leading internet marketing training company. They are all taught by experts, and delivered digitally, so no physical contact is required.
As an affiliate, my function is to put these products in front of as wide an audience as possible. I achieve this by inviting people to visit my website, where all the courses are described in detail. When a customer hits the Buy This Course button, they are taken directly to an opt-in page where they fill out their details, card number, etc., and as soon as the payment clears, they are sent an email with a unique code to access the product in question.
My product supplier handles the orders, takes care of the fulfilment, and pays me a handsome 80% commission on the sales I generate.
I have to feel sorry for those lions!
Message me if you’d like to know more.
(I must apologise for the lack of images this week. I’m having difficulties with the new machine. Expect I will have figured it out by next week.
See you all again next week, and have a great weekend!
