Welcome to this week’s blog post!
I said I would introduce myself properly today, so here goes:
First off, I’m not what you could call photogenic. I like to tell people I have a face made for radio, but I’m stuck with what you see above.
On a personal level, I’m a husband, a father and a grandfather. I’m a keen cricket fan, with a limited interest in most other sports.
I like people; I like talking to others and getting their views on topics of current interest. Other than widening my circle of friends, my interests include canal boating, cars, and observing the wonders of nature.
I’m also a Correct English freak, so please ask me for advice on anything you may be unsure about, and I’ll be happy to help if I can.
A few axioms that I live by: “Strive for excellence, not perfection”, “Making predictions is hard, especially if they are about the future”, and “Never promise what you can’t deliver.”
My values are family, honesty, integrity and freedom of speech.
Professionally, I spent over 40 years in oil & gas exploration as a geophysicist, so feel free to ask me about seismic interpretation! After retiring from that, I transitioned into internet marketing, with the objective of continuing to provide for my family.
We live in Sheringham in North Norfolk, where we have a 7-acre smallholding with a lovely sea view. We have a small bell tent glamping site and enclosures for a variety of animals – alpacas, ponies, chickens, ducks, and pygmy goats.
In conclusion, you should also know that I’m a pop/rock music lover, as well as a huge fan of Monty Python.
Until next week, stay safe and stay tuned to my Facebook pages.
